Chuff Security Co. is a security company appearing in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories.
Description
The security company comes from early assets in Rockstar North's Manhunt, shared during the development of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. While the Chuff Security alarm was left unused in both games, a security card from the company is used across multiple Grand Theft Auto titles as a mission objective pickup.
The only known worker of Chuff Security is P. Rowe, whose image is seen on the security card pickup. A picture of Wonderboy guitarist Peter Rowe is used to represent this character, serving as one of the many Easter eggs towards the Wonderboy band by fellow member Wayland Standing, a Rockstar North environment artist.
DAD-manufactured alarms can be found at the Bunch of Tools hardware store in Vice City Beach and Wang Cars in San Fierro, albeit with compressed textures.[1]
In Manhunt, the source quality textures for the Chuff Security Co. alarm textures are left unused in-game, while the model itself is not present in the files.[2]
Influence
The name is a parody of Chubb Security; "chuff" is British slang for female genitals.
