The Navy Revolver is a hidden unlockable weapon featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as a promotion for Red Dead Online. It was added as part of The Diamond Casino Heist update.
Design
Grand Theft Auto Online
The weapon is based on a combination of the Colt 1851 Navy Revolver and the 1847 Colt Walker. Specifically, it features the overall design of the 1851 Navy, but with the 9-inch barrel and power of the Colt Walker. It contains the quickly detachable cylinder design of the Remington Model 1858 revolver. It is colored silver and has various blood marks around it, with the text "YOU'RE NEXT" marked on the upper side and various lines at the end of the barrel, and grip indicating 68 confirmed kills.
Performance
Grand Theft Auto Online
The Navy Revolver is largely identical to the Heavy Revolver, except that it does not have additional damage against vehicles. It also seems to have the same fire rate as the Heavy Revolver Mk II, while retaining the accuracy and range of the Double-Action Revolver and the two aforementioned revolvers in the game.
When reloading, the player moves a loading lever and drops the used cylinder, before placing a new one and putting the lever back onto its position. This causes the gun to take slightly longer to reload than most conventional revolvers.

Locations
Grand Theft Auto Online
- The Navy Revolver is obtained after finding five clues spread across Blaine County and killing the serial killer that will come after the protagonist once the clues are all collected. The Navy Revolver will then be unlocked along with $50,000. Getting 50 kills with this revolver will earn the protagonist $200,000 and will also unlock the Lowry's Revolver in Red Dead Online.
- After unlocking it, the weapon can be found in Ammu-Nation, although the only option for purchase is the ammo, where 12 rounds cost $28.
Challenge Progress Counter
The player will receive a challenge progress reminder when they login into GTA Online.
Oversights
Grand Theft Auto Online
- A glitch results in the Navy Revolver not being shown in Gunlockers, which means it cannot be unequipped for the time being.
- After eating a peyote plant, the Navy Revolver will be removed from the weapon wheel. The only way to get it back is to buy it from Ammu-Nation for free.
Trivia
Grand Theft Auto Online
- As with other cases of references towards non-Rockstar North titles, the developers avoid referring to Red Dead universe characters by name to prevent their inclusion in the HD Universe lore (in this case, Edmund Lowry Jr.'s name from its original name).
- The weapon is never canonically used in the storyline whatsoever. Its carrier, the Los Santos Slasher, is canonically a Machete serial killer.
- The reload animation of the revolver is inaccurate for a percussion Colt revolver. While soldiers at the time of percussion revolvers would indeed carry extra pre-loaded cylinders and swap out the empty one (as the normal procedure of loading each individual chamber was a delicate and lengthy process), the barrel assembly of the Colt 1851 Navy needs to be detached in order to remove the cylinder, which isn't the case in-game.
- The way the cylinder is replaced is similar to the Remington New Army. It also ejects casings during the reload animation (seen in third-person view) despite having a black powder and percussion cylinder modelled. The cylinder's projectiles are oddly textured with the primer end of metallic cartridges (this isn't the case in a screenshot from the Rockstar blog post promoting the Los Santos Slasher challenge).
