Tags are a collectible in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Description

There are 100 Tags located all around Los Santos, which the player must find and paint a Grove Street Families tag over it using a Spray Can while on foot. A tag needs at least 29 units of Spray Can "ammo" to be completely sprayed over.

A Tag is not considered sprayed until the on-screen message appears and confirmation sound is played, which can be triggered without the Tag being completely covered and so can still be locked on. Using the Spray Can may attract a wanted level.

The Spray Can item is available in three different locations in Los Santos (interior and rooftop of Johnson House, and a house in Las Colinas) and at the Sobell Rail Yards in Las Venturas.

Spraying over all 100 Tags is a requirement for the 100% completion.

Availability

The Tags are available upon gaining control of Carl Johnson during In the Beginning.

Fail Safe

During the mission Tagging Up Turf, 6 Front Yard Ballas Tags are used as an example for introduction for this collectible. If these Tags have been sprayed beforehand, they will be reset for the mission replay, and the "Tags Sprayed" counter on the Stats menu will be reduced by 6.

If all 100 Tags have been completed before Tagging Up Turf, the game percentage progress made will still count as completed and the rewards will not be revoked after the 6 Tags are reset.

After spraying the 6 Tags to complete all 100 Tags for the second time, the player will not hear the "mission passed" confirmation sound, as the progress was made beforehand.

Rewards

Spraying all 100 Tags will reward the player with spawn points for weapons at the Johnson House kitchen, including Molotov Cocktails, Tec-9, Sawed-Off Shotgun and AK47.

The arsenal of the recruitable Grove Street Families members are updated, replacing the 9mms and Tec-9s with Knives, Desert Eagles and SMGs.
