Initially famous for transporting high grade cocaine out of Latin America, the Smuggler's blistering speed and power are now used primarily to transport investment bankers and their trophy wives on day trips to Happiness Island.

The Grotti Smuggler is a high-performance powerboat featured in the downloadable episodic pack, The Ballad of Gay Tony, for Grand Theft Auto IV.

Design

The Smuggler does not seem to be based on a specific model. However, it takes inspirations from speedboats such as the Fountain 47 Lightning and the Cigarette 42X.

The boat features an unusually large hull with a rather streamlined design. The bow takes most of the boat's length and features long silver/chrome hand rails around the center and small hatches with two handles and small cleats on the gunwales, while the cabin quarters feature a narrow windshield with a light tint, regular front seats with rollbar loops above and large rear bench seats. The stern/rear area houses the long intakes and small exit vents for the engine bay, two long antennas on the outer edges and the propulsion systems below.

The Smuggler comes in a two-tone paint scheme, where the primary one is applied in the form of a central stripe, part of the gunwales, the upper portions of the hull and the long intakes, while the secondary color is applied on the side portions of the bow, the lower portions of the hull, in the form of thin stripes on part of the gunwales, the seat rollbar loops, the frame on the dashboard and most of the stern area.

Performance

The Smuggler is the fastest of the TBOGT boats. Despite its size, its acceleration is good, as well as its turning. However, its long profile means it can struggle in narrow passages.

The boat is powered by two inboard engines with Z-drive propellers, and it uses the same engine sound as most speedboats, albeit with an additional tone that sounds similar to the PCJ-600 and the Vader.
